CICAE

The CICAE is pleased to announce that two new members were accepted during the last Board meeting. Both Arthouses of them belongs to the category B : 

De Balie in Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Kino Valli in Pula (Croatia)

This unprecedented release of a Guatemalan feature, Marimbas del Infierno, in Lithuania is the first action undertaken by a member from our newborn network EDEN [European Distributor and Exhibitor Network].

This network gathers exhibitors and distributors from Bulgaria, Croatia, France, England, Ireland, Italy, Lituania, Netherlands, Spain, all former participants of the CINE SIN FRONTERAS WORKSHOP willing to bring diversity in their programming and line-up.

CINE SIN FRONTERAS / CINEMALAB is a workshop aiming to support the diversity of the cinematographic offer by improving the presence and the visibility of Latin-American cinematography in Europe and European cinematography in Latin-America through a training program and a network coordination on both continents.

CINE SIN FRONTERAS is a consortium composed by independent professionals based in more than 30 countries in Europe and in Latin-America.

International Conference, Paris 6 and 7 December 2011

This international conference will be held at the National Art History Institute (INHA) and will focus on the future of the film exhibition industry in Europe. We invite papers employing a variety of approaches (sociological, geographical, architectural, technological, economic, historical, etc.).

Entry is free of charge for staudents, within the limit of available seating. Presentation of student card is required.

Professional public :

- 30 euros/ two days - 20 euros/ 1 day - 15 euros/ half a day

The CICAE is pleased to announce that its President Detlef Rossmann was made ​​a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters. The ceremony took place Oct. 10 at the Embassy of France in Berlin. Ambassador Bernard de Montferrand presented the decoration to the President of the CICAE on behalf of the Minister of Culture and Communication, Frederic Mitterrand, highlighting his service as President of AG Kino - Gilde and CICAE for the cinemas and Franco-German friendship.

The CICAE is glad to announce that the ART CINEMA AWARD given in the framework of the Filmfest Hamburg 2011 has been granted to Monsieur Lazhar, by Pilippe Falardeau.

Sylvie da Rocha, General Delegate of CICAE, chose to leave the association after 4 years of her job; Her function will cease on July 31st,  2011.
The new General Delegate, Marketa Colin-Hodouskova,  will start from June 27th in our Paris office. Marketa  has been working for  Europa Cinema for 9 years, and she has a solid experience in arthouse exhibition and film industry, especially in Europe. I'm confident  that our collaboration will be enriched for CICAE.
As president of CICAE, I would like to send  Sylvie da Rocha my warm thanks for her work in the service of our cinema theatres and the arthouse movement, and I wish her a remarkable success in her future .
