A little community in a village in Kazakhstan…The grand-father and his eagle too old to chase, the sick grand-mother probably weaving her last patchwork, the father gone away for “business” and his 6 years old son, the little Kenzhe who is learning to grow up… Without forgetting also the uncle Matthew and his pig Jacob, a tattooed archeologist, a motorcycling woman, an “artist” selling painted toilets, a father and his 10 daughters…This is the story of their daily life, a life where donkeys are painted in zebras to attract tourists, where you bet on pigs and eagles…where you laugh, cry, love, argue…Kurat Korpe is a light comedy, made as a mosaic, just like the patchwork weaved by the grand-mother. Behind the comedy and the absurd, the director also refers to a certain reality of today’s Kazakhstan.
