Training the next generation of arthouse cinema managers
Arthouse cinema management is a young profession, the fundamental skills of which (programming, special events, management...) are not taught in any school. But with close to 5,000 arthouse cinemas throughout the world, the need for training is great. That is why, in 2004, the CICAE organized the first international training programme for young and future cinema managers and programmers.
260 professionals underwent training in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
ART CINEMA = ACTION + MANAGEMENT
Training seminars for young managers of European Arthouse cinemas, organized within the framework of the MEDIA Programme of the European Union. 250 participants since 2004.
GENERATION BIG SCREEN
Training seminars for Mediterranean professionals in film distribution, theatrical exhibition, film clubs, organized in 2006 within the framework of the Euromed Audiovisual II Programme of the European Union. 48 participants in 2006. This programme is closed until end 2008.
SUBSAHARIAN AFRICA EXHIBITION WORKSHOP
organized in Dakar, Senegal within the framework of the AFRICA CINEMAS Programme led jointly by the European Union, the International Francophone Agency and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 20 participants in 2004 (one-shot initiative).
